Data You Give Us Directly
Search Queries
A name or place entered into a search tool is transmitted to the outside provider that operates that tool. The provider processes the query and supplies its response. We do not keep a separate log or database of those search terms.
Messages and Contact Submissions
An email may be retained long enough to answer and maintain the related correspondence. It is kept within our organization unless disclosure is required by a valid legal obligation.
Data We Gather Automatically
Standard technical details may be recorded when a page loads:
- Page-view dates and times
- Visited pages and approximate visit length
- Device type and operating system
- Browser type and version
- Referring website, when one is supplied
- The device's assigned IP address
Cookies and Analytics
Cookies are small device files that help measure aggregate traffic, such as popular pages and common exit points. Analytics providers assist with that measurement. You can block cookies through browser controls, although doing so may change how some features behave.
What We Do With This Data
- Route a submitted query to the selected search provider
- Find and correct performance or technical faults
- Maintain reliable page delivery and site operation
- Measure which material visitors use most often
- Display advertising that may reflect visitor interests
No Criminal-Record Data on File
We do not build, retain, or sell a database of personal criminal records. The published material explains where St. Louis City records can be requested from SLMPD Records, the City Division of Corrections, the 22nd Judicial Circuit Clerk, the Missouri State Highway Patrol CJIS Division, and the Missouri Sex Offender Registry. Visitor information is not turned into third-party dossiers or consumer reports, and this website is not a consumer reporting agency under the Fair Credit Reporting Act.
Third-Party Search Partners
Outside companies operate the search boxes. Information submitted there is handled under that provider's privacy terms, including its retention and disclosure practices. Those practices are outside our control, so review the applicable policy before sending a query.
Links to Other Websites
Links may lead to St. Louis City agencies, Missouri courts and state offices, legal resources, or outside search services. Once you follow an outbound link, the destination's privacy policy controls. Review it before providing personal information.
Advertising providers may use their own systems to measure activity across websites and select targeted ads.
Who Might See Your Data
Personal data is not sold. Limited information may be available to:
- Advertising networks that serve page advertisements
- Analytics vendors that measure traffic and performance
- Search providers receiving queries submitted to their tools
- Government or law-enforcement bodies acting under a valid legal order
How We Protect Your Data
Reasonable, standard safeguards are used for collected information. No internet system can promise absolute security, however, and we cannot guarantee that a breach will never occur.
Users Under 18
The website is intended for adults, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from anyone under 18. When notified that a minor supplied such data, we will remove it.
Your Data Rights
Applicable privacy and consumer-protection law may provide additional choices. Missouri's Sunshine Law, including §610.023 RSMo, governs requests to public custodians, while §43.507 RSMo addresses state criminal-history dissemination. Those public-record laws do not convert this private website into a government custodian. Subject to applicable law, you may:
- Opt out of certain processing where the law provides that choice
- Request deletion of eligible personal data
- Ask that inaccurate information be corrected
- Request a copy of eligible information associated with you
Updates to This Policy
Revisions to this policy will be posted here and identified by a new effective date. Review the current version when you want to confirm how information is handled.
